We are looking for an experienced Trade Spend Manager to join our Finance team. This is a critical role responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate verification, reconciliation and reporting of trade spend activities and deductions.

Reporting to the Controller, the Trade Spend Manager will take ownership of our Telus TPM software system, including promotions and settlements, while overseeing the day-to-day trade spend processes. The successful candidate will also provide direction, coaching and support to one direct report responsible for trade-spend record keeping and debit administration.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented finance professional with strong CPG trade-spend experience who enjoys being the subject-matter expert, improving processes and working collaboratively across Finance, Sales, Brand and Customer Service teams.

What You’ll DoTrade Spend & TPM Management

  • Own the operation and administration of the Telus TPM software system, including promotions and settlements.
  • Act as the organization’s TPM subject-matter expert, supporting and training users, maintaining system configuration parameters and manage system reports.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate controls and guardrails for promotional inputs and provide stakeholders with visibility into annualized trade-spend budgets versus settlements.
  • Manage debit transactions, including debit trackers, supporting documentation, NetSuite entries and daily data exports into and out of TPM.
  • Manage unallocated debits and open deductions, ensuring balances remain within established targets and approved allocations are accurately recorded in TPM and NetSuite.
  • Monitor TPM settlements and follow up with sales agencies to ensure settlements are actively progressing.
  • Manage and reconcile monthly trade-spend liabilities across CSL brands, including variance analysis between TPM results and brand expectations.
  • Monitor promotion status and work with the CSL Brand team to ensure promotions are accurate and appropriately approved in TPM.
  • Initiate and manage written disputes related to invalid deductions and follow through to resolution.
  • Manage non-CSL deductions by obtaining appropriate backup documentation and coordinating submissions to related vendors.
  • Provide timely reporting, troubleshooting and process updates to CSL Import Teams and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and continuously improve Trade Spend SOPs and processes to improve accuracy, efficiency and productivity.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Provide direction and support to the Debits Administrator, including oversight of trade-spend record keeping, backup collection, verification, disputes and invalid deductions.
  • Build strong working relationships with Finance, Sales, Brand, Customer Service, agencies, customers and vendors.
  • Participate in cross-training with other members of the Finance team.
  • Support compliance with company policies, procedures and established operating standards.
  • Be a Concord ambassador, representing our culture and values in all internal and external interactions.

What We’re Looking For

  • Accounting diploma or higher from a reputable educational institution.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing trade-spend activities within the CPG industry, either with a vendor or retailer — this experience is essential.
  • Experience with Telus TPM (formerly Exceedra) and NetSuite is a strong asset.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience working with high-volume transactions while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong data analysis, reconciliation and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively, manage deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • A proactive, self-directed approach and a strong work ethic.

What We Offer

Competitive compensation

$80,000 – $110,000 base salary + 10% annual performance bonus

Our North Vancouver head office is conveniently located close to public transit and surrounded by shops and restaurants.

This is a full-time hybrid position, with an expectation that the successful candidate will work from our North Vancouver office 2–3 days per week.
