Director, Lift Maintenance

Job Summary:

The Director of Lift Maintenance will lead and manage the Whistler Blackcomb Lift Maintenance and Electrical Departments in alignment with company standards and philosophy. This role oversees preventative, routine, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance of all lifts, ensures compliance with regulations, leads lift construction and special projects, and champions best practices. The ideal candidate leads a skilled staff, cultivates safety, drives change management, and develops talent.

    • Starting Wage: $127,326 - $181,894 + annual bonus + equity
    • Employment Type: Year Round

Job Responsibilities

    • Ensure lifts comply with TSBC, insurance, and company regulations.
    • Lead conduct, training, department policies, and overall service standards.
    • Plan and oversee mechanical and electrical maintenance.
    • Maintain and monitor department budgets; report variances.
    • Develop long term lift system upgrade plans with the VP of Mountain Operations.
    • Implement summer and winter preventive maintenance programs, coordinating with vendors and agencies.
    • Inform VP of Mountain Operations immediately about abnormal conditions, incidents, or malfunctions.
    • Maintain accurate records of procedures, logs, incidents, and downtime.
Job Qualifications

Required:

    • High school education or equivalent.
    • 10+ years management experience in Lift Operations, Lift Maintenance, or Mountain Operations.
    • Valid BC driver's license.
    • Proficient knowledge of desktop computer systems and applications.
    • English literacy (read, write, speak).
    • Understanding of budgets and financial acumen.
    • Strong knowledge of lift mechanical/electrical systems.
    • Familiarity with lift operations and activity based features.
    • Team player with strong organizational skills.
    • Knowledge of regulations and codes of authorities with jurisdiction.
    • Advanced level skier/snowboarder.

Preferred:

    • Some college experience.
    • 10+ years supervisory/management experience.
