Position Summary The Caregiver Team Lead will actively work in the childcare rooms during peak times while assisting with the daily operations of the KidZone, Hub, Parties and Programs in the absence of the Child & Youth Activities Management team. The Caregiver Team Lead will provide direction and guidance on programs. Primary Responsibilities Ensure questions and concerns from parents are noted to a Supervisor and/or Manager. Be aware of all information on emergency cards such as alternate pick up people and allergies Photocopy and refill all attendance/disinfecting lists for each area when needed or during down times Be continually aware of any programs/parties/events happening on weekends Assist and ensure the proper opening procedures are being adhered to Assist in ensuring adequate shift coverage in the event of staff absenteeism (i.e. weekends) Ensure that safe play areas are properly maintained Ensure rooms are set-up and age appropriate equipment is available Assist in delegating room tasks to Caregivers as needed Assist with administrative support as needed. KidZone Attend to washroom needs, diaper changing and other personal needs as required. Keep written records of activities i.e. sleep time, feeding, diaper changes. Ensure communication of childrens needs to other caregivers. Communicate with members in regards to special requests of their child(ren) Teach children songs, games, social skills, and crafts, story time, creating a fun and engaging atmosphere for the children during their visits Develop and implement age appropriate program plans for activities and circle experiences in the following areas: social emotional, sensory, science, cognitive, gross and fine motor Provide snacks and refreshments to children and bottles to babies as required Remove and report any damaged or unsafe toys, games and equipment to a Supervisor/Manager Ensure a clean, neat and sanitary environment Complete a playground inspection as needed, prior to bring participants to the playground Communicate with parents about their childs day establish a positive relationship with parents Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum of 1 year in a supervisory or leadership position. Diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalency Required. A responsible, patient person who must have a genuine love for children. Experience working with pre-school and school-aged children would be considered an asset. Knowledge of Front Desk duties, InMotion and Northstar System an asset Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong customer service skills. Flexibility to work evening shifts, days, weekends and holidays. Must be able to work weekends as assigned. Ability to set priorities and organize workload to ensure continuing productivity. Ability to work well under pressure, handles multiple priorities with strong organizational skills. Team oriented, enthusiastic, creative, well-groomed, reliable, and punctual. Valid First Aid and CPR certifications required. Please note that duties will be added, deleted or assigned as required.
